Overview:
StevenDouglas has been exclusively retained by our confidential client to identify their next President. Our client offers Civil Engineering and Construction services to agencies, municipalities, and contractors. They excel in design, project oversight, quality control, and materials testing, and provide an extensive array of consulting services in civil, structural, geotechnical, and transportation engineering. The firm has extensive experience in public agency projects, with current revenues between $5M and $10M.
They are on a trajectory to double in size and are seeking a strong leader to guide their ambitious and talented team of young engineers. This individual will report directly to the CEO, play a critical role in the senior management team, and lead a small team of young ambitious team of engineers, drafters, and designers.
Role Summary:
The President will report directly to the CEO and play a critical role in the senior management team. This leader will guide a talented team of approximately 5 direct reports and 12 total reports, focusing on ambitious growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead corporate priorities and ensure alignment with company values.
- Develop and implement corporate governance policies in finance and operations.
- Oversee financial reporting and cost controls.
- Advise the CEO and senior management on business and legal matters.
- Network and develop new business opportunities, particularly in government contracts.
- Implement asset management and risk management strategies.
- Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Represent the company in client relations and negotiations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of business experience in a leadership role, preferably in engineering or construction.
- Proven track record of successful organizational change and development.
- Strong judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to build relationships and engage effectively with diverse teams.
