As part of our world-class traffic infrastructure team, you will be at the forefront of handling every HTTP request reaching LinkedIn. You will be responsible for improving the traffic tier's reliability, security posture, operational rigor, and efficiency. In this specific role, you will be responsible for influencing the future of traffic by building a high-performance team and ensuring that good decisions are made.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the performance and career development of a team of engineers, and own significant parts of LinkedIn traffic infrastructure that require design, architecture, and technical vision.
- Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology roadmap.
- Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.
- Work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.
- Manage teams to scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
- Develop multi-tier scalable, secure, and reliable systems that operate 24x7.
Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering/technical management and people management.
• 10+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering
• Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (such as Go, Rust, C++, or Java).
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of software engineering management experience
- 2+ years exp managing managers
- Experience• Experience in building and managing traffic infrastructure using open-source software, such as ATS, HAProxy, or Envoy.
• Experience in working with legacy systems and codebases.

The pay range for this role is $180,000 to $300,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
