Mawson Infrastructure Group is seeking an experienced Director of AI & HPC Infrastructure to lead and oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of AI & High-Performance Computing systems and infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of AI & HPC Infrastructure will be responsible for the execution Mawson’s artificial intelligence & high-performance computing strategy.
We're looking for someone who has high levels of integrity, organization, and project management skills and who can apply leadership and influencing skills when required. You will need a strong analytical mind, an eye for details and the flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Development
- Design and execute a comprehensive strategy for Mawson's AI/HPC systems and infrastructure deployment
- Develop and manage capital and operational budgets for AI/HPC infrastructure initiatives
- Identify and evaluate emerging HPC technologies, hardware, and software solutions
- Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, research institutions, and industry partners
Technical Operations
- Design and deploy data center infrastructure to support AI and HPC workloads
- Oversee installation, startup, and commissioning processes for new client deployments
- Ensure infrastructure meets client requirements for power, redundancy, and performance
- Develop and implement operational procedures for ongoing maintenance and optimization
- Lead procurement strategies for hardware and equipment, including power systems, cooling systems, GPUs and data center components
Service Delivery & Client Management
- Serve as the technical authority for client AI/HPC deployments and operations
- Collaborate with client engineering teams to address technical requirements and challenges
- Establish and maintain service delivery standards and KPIs
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution
- Lead regular client meetings to provide updates and maintain strong relationships
Team Leadership
- Build and lead high-performing technical teams across multiple locations
- Promote knowledge-sharing and provide training opportunities for staff
- Implement best practices for project management and service delivery
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Education and Expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Civil Engineering or another technical field
- Master’s degree in engineering strongly preferred
- 3+ years of experience in data center, cloud or AI/HPC infrastructure management
- Demonstrated experience with data center development, operations and/or management
- PMP or similar project management certification preferred
Technical knowledge
- Deep understanding of AI/HPC infrastructure, systems, and hardware
- Experience with data center deployments
- Strong knowledge of power, network, and facility infrastructure
- Expertise in cloud computing and distributed systems
- Experience with GPU infrastructure and optimization
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Proven track record of managing complex technology infrastructure projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience managing budgets and capital expenditure
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel as needed and with short notice to support customer needs, oversee deployments, meet suppliers and attend industry conferences

Compensation: Full-time, Salary-Exempt - $150,000 (DOE) + Bonus + Equity
