The postdoctoral researchers will be primarily responsible for fulfilling the aims of funded research projects for developing microsensor array, micropreconcentrators and microreactors with a focus on either detection and real-time monitoring of trace volatile organic compounds in environmental air or lab developed breath analysis test for diagnosis of target diseases. The postdoctoral researchers will design and fabricate microsensor array, micropreconcentrators and microreactor, characterize and analyze environmental air or breath samples using the microfabricated devices. The researchers will analyze data to identify compounds and determine the concentrations of compounds and will prepare presentations reports, and manuscripts. Considerable skills in MEMS microfabrication, micro/nanofluidic devices, GC-MS, UHPLC_MS and statistical data analysis will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute research experiments.
- Analyze experimental data and update research notebooks.
- Reading literature relevant to research and training objectives
- Preparation of manuscripts and written reports
- Oral presentations at group/local, national and international meetings
- Training graduate and undergraduate students
Minimum Requirements:
A PhD or PhD/MD degree in the field of Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical engineering is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous working experience in microfabrication, microfabricated gas sensor array, micropreconcentrator and microreactor, GC-MS and UHPLC-MS, I-V meters is preferred.
