Quality Manager
Reports To: Technical Manager
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm (or similar)
Salary: $62,000 - $75,000/year + quarterly profit-sharing bonus, year end bonuses
Job Overview:
A local manufacturing plant is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Manager to oversee all quality activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality control, specifically within rubber laboratory or rubber processing environments. This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a deep understanding of quality management systems and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all quality-related activities to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Conduct audits, identify non-conformities, and implement corrective actions related to the quality management system.
- Develop and maintain documentation for ISO activities, serving as the Management Representative.
- Review and train staff on ISO procedures to ensure compliance.
- Supervise and support the quality team, including lab and quality technicians.
- Interface with regulatory agencies (e.g., UL, NSF, AWWA, EPA) to secure and maintain necessary listings.
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to address quality issues.
- Manage the testing laboratory and ensure effective operation.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams and customers.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies as necessary.
- Communicate audit findings and quality concerns across departments to drive improvements.
- Utilize ERP systems and software tools (e.g., SAP, JDE, Excel) effectively.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Minimum of five years of leadership experience in quality control and/or rubber laboratory/rubber processing.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards.
- Proven ability to manage people and multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-product line manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

- Profit Sharing: Eligibility takes approximately six (6) months from hire date. Quarterly cash payments based on corporate profits in accordance with official Plan Description (could be up to 40% of annual salary!)
