E Ink’s Product Development Group is looking for a highly motivated, creative, and hands-on Compounding and Coating technician. Reporting to the Coating Line Manager, this individual will be responsible for day-to-day operation of compounding equipment to produce coating fluids needed for the Billerica Pilot Coater.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with chemists and engineers to establish and implement optimized processes and material flow for the operation of Chemical Mix lab equipment
- Coordination and timely execution of experiments in batch reactors
- Monitor and ensure outgoing quality of coating fluids meet specifications
- Ensure all best practices and safety protocols are observed and followed
- Respond to process upsets (troubleshooting) and drive solutions
- Perform data collection, maintain records, and ensure proper functioning and cleanliness of the equipment
- Work in collaboration with Pilot coater team to ensure on-time delivery of coating materials for development support
- Be flexible to support some of the activities in Pilot coater as needed
Qualifications:
- GED or High School diploma plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant manufacturing environment
- Experience with compounding of powders, resins, solvents and other additives in a lab or manufacturing set up is preferred
- Good understanding of weighing principles and polymer processing methods
- Experience with material characterization in advanced materials field is desired
- Ability to make meaningful contributions in troubleshooting and resolving complicated technical problems
- Strong relationship and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, self -managed environment with aggressive goals
- PC skills: solid understanding of the Microsoft Suite and spreadsheet applications
- Good verbal, oral and written communication skills required
