The Program Leader is responsible for strategic program and portfolio management of preclinical and clinical-stage programs. In this role, candidates can expect to:
- Provide core program leadership, management support, and strategic partnership with functional team (Clinical, Pre-Clinical and CMC) leaders. This role is accountable for establishing and driving program strategy, goals, plans, and long-term planning aligned with the portfolio strategy.
- Drive decision-making with senior stakeholders (CEO, CMO, CSO), and influence across organization for 3 (Pre) Clinical Programs (1 Ph1 Clinical Stage, 2 IND Stage Programs).
- Provide technical project management support including elements such as integrated timelines, scenario planning, budget tracking, critical path analysis and risk mitigation.
- Lead team meetings by developing agendas, defining and communicating meeting objectives, capturing, and disseminating meeting minutes, decisions, and action items, and following up on action items (Senior Leadership (SLT) Team, Clinical Development Meeting, 010 Project Team, 011 Project Team, 012 Project Team and Discovery Projects)
- Sit within Clinical Development and coordinate with the various internal (across all functions) and external stakeholders (including consultants) to keep the project on track
- Provide effective interface between Pheon colleagues, vendor sub teams and consultants.
Qualifications:
- A BS degree in a scientific field with a minimum of 12 years of experience or MS degree in a scientific field with at least 10 years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting including IND to Ph1, ideally through registrational programs.
- Prior experience combining the knowledge in program management, study operationalization, clinical development, finance etc. to manage Clinical programs from a performance and budget perspective.
- Formal program management training and skills.
- Prior experience managing or working within cross-functional project teams with timeline management and budgetary responsibility
- Excellent facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution skills, and cross functional collaboration skills with different functional areas
- Has a results-driven mindset with a strong sense of urgency, who can work both independently and in a cross-functional team environment
