We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our team in Springboro, OH. The ideal candidate will have strong background in manufacturing in the aerospace and defense industries, focusing on machining and quality assurance. This is an onsite role that requires 5-10 years of experience in quality engineering, particularly in implementing quality systems, driving continuous improvement, and leading internal and supplier audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform internal audits in compliance with AS9101 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Conduct supplier quality audits, ensuring adherence to customer and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve quality issues using root cause analysis and develop corrective actions to eliminate recurrence.
- Work with balloon prints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness during inspections.
- Program and operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to validate part dimensions and tolerances.
- Oversee inspection prioritization to ensure timely and efficient handling of products.
- Collect, analyze, and report on defect data to monitor trends and drive corrective actions.
- Maintain and improve quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to resolve quality concerns and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide quality support and leadership for machining operations, ensuring product conformance to customer specifications.
Qualifications:
- ASQ Certification (e.g., CQE, CQA, or equivalent).
- Proficient in AS9101 and ISO 9001 quality management standards.
- 5-10 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the aerospace or defense sectors.
- Strong background in machining and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CMM programming and operating precision measurement equipment.
- Expertise in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Proficiency in balloon prints and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Experience in managing supplier quality audits and ensuring supplier compliance.
- Ability to prioritize inspection activities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on driving continuous improvement.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
