The Finance Associate is responsible for supporting the team in the areas of financial modeling, corporate budgeting and forecasting, preparing materials for the Board of Directors, and financial analysis of projects, potential acquisitions and divestitures, capital markets, market peers, and macroeconomic trends. The individual will assist with creating corporate presentations for strategic partners, credit rating agencies and investors as well as ad hoc assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates and manage financial models used to guide strategic capital investment decisions
- Support financial modeling efforts for internal budgeting and provide external financial guidance.
- Conduct financial analysis related to potential acquisitions, divestitures, and macroeconomic trends.
- Supports preparation of materials for investors, credit rating agencies, Board of Directors and other internal audiences
- Develop ad hoc reports and presentations related to macroeconomic trends, peer comparisons, and capital markets.
- Assists with financial planning and analysis including budgeting, variance analysis, acquisition due diligence, and development and tracking of business KPIs
- Work closely with operations and commercial teams to integrate data across the organization into forecasted financials.
- Other special projects as designated
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field requiring complex quantitative analysis.
- Strong financial modeling skills and attention to detail
- Experience in investment banking, corporate finance / development / strategy, or transaction advisory services preferred, particularly experience in upstream or midstream oil & gas industries
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint (required)
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication, including PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage time effectively
- Able to discuss complex financial concepts effectively and collaborate across all levels in the organization, including those with limited finance background
