Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and methodologies for testing rate calculation functionalities within P&C insurance software applications.
- Define testing objectives, scope, and timelines in alignment with project requirements and business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers responsible for rate testing activities.
- Provide technical guidance, support, and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and developers to analyze rate calculation requirements, rate manuals, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify test scenarios and ensure comprehensive test coverage to validate rate calculation logic.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including business analysts, product owners, developers, and project managers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices for rate testing in the P&C insurance industry.
- Establish and maintain robust defect management processes, including defect tracking, prioritization, and resolution.
- Work closely with development teams to prioritize and address defects in a timely manner.
Requirements
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing roles, with a focus on rate testing in the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance industry.
- Deep understanding of Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance concepts, including rate calculation methodologies, policy issuance, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and methodologies for testing rate calculation functionalities within P&C insurance software applications.
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities to lead and guide a team of QA engineers responsible for rate testing activities.
- Ability to provide technical guidance, support, and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Proficiency in collaborating with business analysts, product owners, and developers to analyze rate calculation requirements, rate manuals, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to identify test scenarios and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Solid knowledge of test management tools such as HP ALM, Jira, ADO, Rally or similar.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen diligence.
- Experience working in Agile environment following Onsite Offshore mode.
Good to Have:
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, or Agile certifications are desirable.
- P&C Insurance Knowledge - Personal Lines and Commercial Lines.
