Position Overview:
They are seeking a highly driven Private Equity Associate to join their investment team. As an Associate, you will be responsible for evaluating potential investments, conducting due diligence, developing financial models, and managing key portfolio company initiatives. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on both the buy-side of deals and actively engage in operational improvements post-investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough financial modelling, valuation analysis, and due diligence on potential acquisitions across the firm’s core focus sectors.
- Deal Execution: Support all phases of the investment process, from sourcing and structuring deals to conducting negotiations and closing transactions.
- Market Research: Perform industry and competitive analysis, identifying trends and opportunities within healthcare & life sciences.
- Portfolio Management: Work closely with portfolio companies post-investment to drive performance improvements, including financial analysis, growth strategies, and operational efficiencies.
- Presentation & Reporting: Prepare investment memos, presentations, and updates for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and limited partners.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external advisors (legal, accounting, consulting) to ensure successful investment outcomes.
Qualifications:
- 1.5-3 years of experience in private equity or investment banking (M&A)
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of corporate finance principles.
- Experience working on deals in the middle-market, particularly within healthcare & life sciences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across multiple teams and with portfolio company executives.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
