Job Title: Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

Job Overview:
Wize Solutions, a leading IT consulting firm based in Abingdon, VA, is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to support and enhance our cloud infrastructure, focusing on Microsoft Power Platform, user roles, groups, security, and system management. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Azure systems engineering, while also having broad expertise in managing cloud environments, provisioning resources, and overseeing security protocols. This role will involve managing complex cloud environments, supporting platform applications, and leading migration projects from other cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) into Azure.
Required Qualifications: (minimum 5 years)
- Strong experience with Azure systems engineering and cloud management
- Extensive knowledge of managing users, roles, groups, and security in cloud environments.
- Proficient in supporting and integrating the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) into cloud solutions.
- Hands-on experience with cloud migration projects, specifically migrating workloads from AWS and Google Cloud to Azure.
- Strong expertise in automation tools and scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Python) for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
- Solid understanding of identity and access management, security protocols, and compliance in cloud systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and lead projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Broad knowledge of managing cloud environments, including resource provisioning, asset management, and security governance.
- Strong familiarity with Azure security features, such as Conditional Access Policies and Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Relevant cloud certifications are preferred.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Power Platform integration (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Administer and manage users, roles, groups, and security settings within Azure Active Directory and other cloud systems.
- Lead migration projects from AWS and Google Cloud into Azure, ensuring smooth transition and optimization.
- Implement security best practices, ensuring data protection and regulatory compliance across cloud environments.
- Develop automation scripts for provisioning resources, scaling applications, and maintaining high availability.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate Power Platform solutions, managing security roles and ensuring proper access control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the cloud infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Regularly review and optimize cloud configurations, implementing updates and improvements as necessary.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and support teams.
