Surgical Materials Coordinator
3-Month Contract, temp to perm possible

Pay Rate: up to $25/hr W2 (Benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Materials Coordinator for a temp-to-perm position on behalf of our client, fully on-site in Fullerton, CA. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of surgical procedures by managing the flow of materials in the operating room (OR). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of OR supplies, surgical workflows, and par levels. Additionally, the role will support invoicing and work closely with the Administrative team and Business Operations Manager to strategically manage materials and control costs. The position also requires strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain operating room materials and supplies, ensuring appropriate par levels for all surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure all necessary materials are available for surgeries, understanding the flow and timing of procedures.
- Serve as a scrub tech as needed, assisting with surgeries and understanding the specific material requirements in real time.
- Track and reorder supplies based on usage and need, ensuring minimal waste and cost efficiency.
- Work with the Administrative team to support invoicing and liaise with the Business Operations Manager on strategic materials planning.
- Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency in material usage.
- Maintain accurate records of materials, including inventory management, usage tracking, and replenishment schedules.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between surgical teams, business operations, and administration.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and HIPAA regulations related to the handling of surgical supplies and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Materials Coordinator or similar role within a hospital or surgical setting.
- Knowledge of operating room supplies, surgical flows, and materials management best practices.
- Familiarity with par level management and the ability to anticipate material needs during surgeries.
- Experience with scrubbing in OR settings is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Basic experience in administrative tasks, including invoicing and working with business operations.
- Ability to work independently and strategically to support cost-saving initiatives.
- Knowledge of relevant HIPAA compliance and safety standards in a medical setting.
