Job Summary
As Associate Product Developer and Technical Designer you will support and collaborate with the Product Development and Design teams to bring designs to life by managing product all the way from initial concept through final production. You will be the front-line with all vendors and factories regarding communication on sampling, material and component approvals, and fitting product while maintaining accurate data library for the lifecycle of a product. You will use your keen eye for quality, color, construction, and fit to transform a tech pack to a product that aligns company and brand standards.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
· Create product documentation using Centric PLM system and other tools to communicate product expectations to manufacturing partners. Continue to manage product development process via PLM throughout the product lifecycle.
· Use time management and organizational skills to keep clear record of all product and component documentation and filing
· Work directly with factories and goldbug assets overseas to relay product comments
· Review samples and document product changes / approvals / drops via PLM and communicate to cross functional teams.
· Assists in preparation for meetings by organizing samples / submits / merch guides
· Support development team with accurate, timely, and professional communication
· Participate in fittings while maintaining clear analysis, documentation, communication, and adherence to fit intent and standards.
· Assist with measurement and fit all product samples utilizing construction specs and size charts provided by tech team.
· Technical support to Product Development team with initial size chart set up and maintenance by making sure all templates are up to date and creating new templates as needed
· Setting up new size ranges and validating against ASTM standards, industry standards, and historical data.
· Create and update construction specs in Adobe Illustrator to upload into PLM
The Ideal Candidate:
· Footwear experience preferred
· Proficient knowledge in patternmaking including grading, construction, and fit
· High level of organization to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrate critical & creative thinking.
· Ability to quickly problem solve, be self-motivated, and have a strong sense of urgency.
· Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
· Flexibility and availability to take early morning or evening calls with overseas teams.
· Ability to effectively communicate with overseas teams with language barrier.
· Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Illustrator & PLM.
· Bachelor's degree in product development or technical design preferred.
· Knowledge in patternmaking including grading, construction, and fit.
· 2+ years product development experience.
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed.
· Must be okay to work in a dog friendly office.
Other job Details:
· Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
· Status: Hybrid (in-office 3 days/ week)
· Reports to: Product Development + Tech Design Manager
