Who we are looking for:
We are in search of a full-time security technician for commercial locksmith and access control field work in Orange County, CA. We are looking for someone who is a self-motivated individual with positive energy, who is proactive and takes initiative.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Installation and repairs of commercial lock hardware; including but not limited to: Cylindrical and mortise locks, panic hardware, and door closers.
• Re-keying commercial locks, setting up master key systems, and commercial door alignment.
• Access control hardware installations; including but not limited to: Mag locks, electric strikes, electrified mortise and cylindrical locks, electrified panic bars, wire runs, coring doors, cut, bend, and manipulate conduit.
• Perform new access control system installations and system conversions. Complete programming of installed hardware and software for access control systems. Perform customer instruction on access control system operation and functionality.
• Performs a variety of troubleshooting to determine whether product functions as specified. Determine cause of product failure and analyze test results.
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current valid driver's license.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
• Must be able to fluently understand, speak and write English.
• Must be well-groomed and keep a clean work area.
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Understanding of fire and life safety building codes.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude: Ability to use tools of the trade including but not limited to: hand tools, power tools, multimeter, key machines, lock picks, grinders, and wood chisels.
• Math skills such as measuring, addition/subtraction, and fractions.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Evaluate systems to identify necessary repairs and meet best practices. Make recommendations for system improvements.
• Physical capabilities such as driving for up to two hours at a time, standing for long periods of time, squatting, crawling in crawl spaces, and climbing on ladders.
• Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, prioritize, work efficiently and effectively under deadlines as required.
• Adaptability and being able to work in a team environment as well as independently while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, co-workers, vendors, and the public alike.
Desired Experience:
• 3+ years with hands on experience as a commercial locksmith technician
• Working experience with installation and termination of security devices including door strikes, mag locks, card readers, Intercom systems, security cameras, etc.
• Working experience with low voltage wiring such as setting up system diagrams, understanding relays, and diagnosing system issues.
