Eldorado, a domestic and international distributor of pleasure products, is seeking a buyer with 2+ years of buying experience for our Broomfield, Colorado location. You will be tasked with all aspects of the buying process. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate best prices, discounts, payment terms, transportation terms, damage allowances, exclusivity, etc. with all suppliers.
- Work with suppliers to get first choice and first deliveries of new products .
- Be the first to know of upcoming changes to the suppliers business model.
- Recommend markup/markdown percentages, customer discount levels, and wholesale prices.
- Make sale and seasonal buys that produce extra markup opportunities.
- Plan sales promotions
- Work with receiving, stock control and accounting on shipment discrepancies.
- Work on software platforms to enter new products, place purchase orders, and edit website data.
- Remind suppliers to review their products on our website, have them watch for latest photos, packaging, pricing, description, etc.
- Regularly review supplier compliance with company financial goals.
- Communicate to marketing any necessary changes on the website and edit product data yourself as necessary.
- Verify that your supplier's products all conform to the various regulations we are required to monitor.
- Ensure your suppliers all carry product liability insurance.
- Help create catalogs.
- Help schedule supplier visits to educate the sales and marketing teams.
- Obtain information about retailer and end-user needs and preferences, through communication with sales, marketing and purchasing personnel.
- Conduct new product meetings with sales and marketing personnel.
- Be ethical. Live by the Eldorado Mission Statement and Guiding Principles. Follow the departmental code of conduct and ethics.
