Construction Project Estimator
My client is a long-established custom home Framing Company who is looking for a well-qualified and experienced estimator for high-end custom residential homes in California.
Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player who is ready to hit the ground running and accomplish the following critical responsibilities.
The ideal candidate shall possess the flowing qualifications and success attributes:
Qualifications:
- Must know how to read and understand Preliminary Drawings
- Ability to perform detailed take-offs for materials, trade contractors, and labor based on Preliminary Drawings
- Ability to assemble detailed itemized estimates and processes for accurate and timely completed estimating schedule
- Ability to contribute strategies and solutions for successful bids and proposals on all projects
- Ability to prepare Steel Package Estimates
- Prepare estimates for Changes in the work during the construction process
- Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers
- Strong written, communication and computer skills are required
- Excellent analytical skills
- Highly organized
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience/or training in the construction trade industry required
- Residential Framing construction experience is a MUST - building high-end residential projects preferred!
- Team player, excellent attitude and pleasant personality is required
Education:
- A four-year degree in the related field is preferred
Computer and Office Skills:
- Ability to operate computer software, to include MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Web Browser
- Ability to operate a copier and the company phone/voice mail system
Language Skills:
- Ability to speak fluent in English and Spanish is a Plus +
- Ability to read, and interpret documents such as construction contracts/agreements, drawing, procedure manuals, safety rules, estimates, and operating and maintenance instructions
- Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers or co-workers
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and to verbally present information to customers, co-workers, suppliers, and the general public
