Macdonald & Company is pleased to partner with a leading Multifamily Investment & Development firm to find and appoint an Acquisitions Associate to join their team in San Antonio, TX.
OVERVIEW:
The company is seeking a qualified Associate to join the investment team and support the continued growth of the platform. This position is primarily responsible for providing analytical and due diligence support to the investment team while ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data used to make critical investment decisions. Core responsibilities include underwriting new investment opportunities, performing due diligence, completing market research and analysis, and assisting the asset management team. This role will be based in San Antonio at the corporate headquarters, reporting directly to the Vice President of Acquisitions, and will be an integral part of a tight-knit, collegial team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the investment team to manage and expand database for new investment opportunities.
- Assist with screening and evaluating investment opportunities. Perform due diligence on new investment opportunities through research, financial modeling, participation in meetings, and travel when necessary.
- Assist with the closing process of acquisitions and disposition of assets. This includes deal structuring, purchase sale agreement, partnership agreements, third-party due diligence reports, financial statement review and on-site due diligence. Act as a liaison with owners, legal counsel, and third-party contractors.
- Organize demographic, economic, and other market data. Present to the investment team drawing objective conclusions.
- Assist and provide support to asset managers. This includes preparing monthly investment reports, responding to ad hoc requests, preparing annual budgets, overseeing the execution of the business plan, participating on investor calls, and coordinating with property operations teams.
- Attend meetings with investment managers, brokers, lenders, consultants, and other third-parties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Real Estate, or similar business field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Ability to collect and analyze data from multiple sources, financial modeling, and exercise judgment based on the analysis.
- Possess strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, multiple tasks and relationships in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Exhibit strong intellectual curiosity.
