Calling all business immigration paralegals!
This position will closely partner with the supporting immigration attorneys and clients, supporting them with legal processes related to business immigration. This role is crucial in helping companies hire and retain foreign talent by facilitating visa applications and related compliance work. The Immigration Paralegal will assist attorneys in preparing and filing petitions, drafting legal documents, managing case files, and ensuring compliance with U.S. immigration laws, specifically in the context of work visas, employment-based green cards, and related applications.
· Assist in preparing and filing immigration petitions (e.g., H-1B, L-1, E-2, TN, O-1, etc.) and employment-based green card applications.
· Draft and file forms, including PERM labor certifications, I-140 Immigrant Petitions, I-485 Adjustment of Status Applications, and others.
· Draft legal documents, including support letters, memos, and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs).
· Research and analyze information for visa petitions and applications.
· Communicate with clients to collect necessary information and documents.
· Provide updates on case status and process timelines.
· Guide clients through the immigration process, ensuring proper understanding of the requirements.
· Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and stored.
· Use case management software to track deadlines, case statuses, and documentation.
· Ensure timely filing of petitions, applications, and renewals to avoid visa expiration.
· Communicate with government agencies such as USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), DOL (Department of Labor), and DOS (Department of State).
· Monitor case progress and handle follow-ups with government agencies.
· Ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
· Assist in audits, including internal audits or those initiated by government agencies, ensuring accurate record-keeping for immigration files.
· Stay updated on changes to immigration laws and policies that may impact business immigration practices.
· Provide administrative support as needed, such as scheduling meetings and interviews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
Experience: 3 - 4 years of experience in immigration law.
