The Loan Operations Team Leader is responsible for the management of activities of the loan operations department. They develop and design workflow, automation, and procedures to ensure loan operations and systems run effectively and efficiently, while creating an environment of continuous improvement. They promote operational excellence through proper operational controls, quality customer service, and detailed reporting. They oversee the daily function of loan operations ensuring that expected service levels are met inclusive of productivity, audit soundness, regulatory compliance, and exemplary client service.
Responsibilities
- Manages the daily operations of loan operations staff. Leads and develops direct reports in a manner that supports a fully engaged, efficient, knowledgeable team promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Creates development plans and coaches staff to perform at a high level and meet both the bank and their career goals.
- Participates in regular operations meetings to address ongoing training initiatives, communicate compliance and regulatory information, and updates from other business units.
- Develops and designs organizational workflow and procedures for loan boarding, post- closing maintenance, and general loan accounting in alignment with the bank’s strategic plan.
- Monitors core accounting platform program changes, ensuring best practices are maintained and new functionality is implemented.
- Develops, monitors, and maintains measurement methods of loan operations staff in the areas of product and technical job knowledge, accuracy, and meeting service level agreements.
- Assures audit compliance and procedure and quality control through operational review; recommends and initiates corrective actions.
- Manages an effective escrow and insurance documentation system to ensure timely notifications and payments.
- Creates an atmosphere of continuous process improvement via regular process reviews monitoring the banking environment for new opportunities with automation and technological advancement.
- Maintains other loan servicing accountabilities such as daily system reports and annual remittance and reporting.
- Maintains effective communications with lending personnel regarding procedures and policies.
- Oversees or performs reconcilement of internal General Ledger and DDA Accounts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of post high school education and related work experience.
- Five - ten years of bank experience in a larger community or regional bank ($6 Billion+) in operations, with a background in advanced specialty loan operations (Swaps, Syndications, Participations, Master Agreements, Floor Plans), a track record of automating processes and continuous improvement, and employee management.
