The Director of Curriculum and Product Development leads Pitsco Education’s proprietary curriculum and product development projects. This position oversees the selection process of new development projects, the creation of new projects (both internal and external), the maintenance of existing projects, strategic planning in coordination with Product Portfolio Managers, and the development and improvement of Pitsco’s learning management systems. This individual should reflect the company’s four pillars: Purpose Driven, Student Engagement, Industry-Leading Customer Service, and Quality/Innovative Curriculum and Products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
• Guiding the development, production, enhancement, and maintenance of Pitsco’s portfolio of products and solutions
• Maintaining knowledge of all Pitsco curriculum and products
• Researching, identifying, and implementing technology into curriculum delivery methods, assessment systems, and learning management systems
• Evaluating educational tools, strategies, and concepts that can improve Pitsco’s solutions
• Staying abreast of education and researching and evaluating emerging technologies and development trends
• Overseeing outside development projects and serving as a liaison between Pitsco and the outside developers as necessary
• Collaborating with Project Manager to ensure that projects stay on schedule and on budget
• Preparing and monitoring the annual development budget and work orders
• Facilitating the process between Curriculum Development and R&D to create new proprietary products
• Leading and mentoring a team of Learning Specialists and Product Designers
• Researching educational methodologies and pedagogies to support the foundation of Pitsco’s curriculum development
• Collaborating with third-party researchers to build, facilitate, and analyze Pitsco projects to ensure curriculum achieves the intended results
• Overseeing the correlation of curriculum to state and national standards
• Serving as a resource for the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience departments
• Serving as a member of Pitsco’s Leadership Team
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required (master’s degree preferred)
• Teaching experience preferred
• Originality, creativity, teamwork, writing, and strong communication and interpersonal skills required
• Minimum of three years’ experience in developing and managing curriculum, management systems, or physical product projects
• Previous managerial experience desired
• Experience implementing, coordinating, and tracking development contracts
• Familiarity with development tools utilized in curriculum and product development
• Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
• Ability to travel periodically for professional development and to visit locations utilizing Pitsco solutions
• Ability to be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation including ability to walk, balance, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, and stoop
