Position Summary: The Multi-Discipline Engineer II will work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to address technical challenges in a fast-paced production environment. The role includes supporting the ramp-up of new products and processes, driving process capability, and facilitating improvement efforts through mechanical design and problem-solving methodologies.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Assess performance gaps and identify opportunities for new process equipment.
- Recommend improvements based on process flow gap analysis.
- Generate designs aligned with agreed solutions.
- Draft and obtain quotes from vendors for necessary equipment.
- Deploy prototypes and evaluate designs based on functionality and performance.
- Update engineering and operations documentation as needed.
- Provide production support to manufacturing operations.
- Identify chronic issues and suggest corrective actions.
- Conduct training for the technical workforce regarding operational changes.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Mechanical, Industrial, Ceramics, or related Engineering discipline.
- 3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in mechanical design, parametric modeling, and technical drafting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and safety protocols in a manufacturing context.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in experimental design and project management.
- Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab or JMP).
- Knowledge of polymer coatings and glass forming processes.
