The development officer will be responsible for leading all aspects of planning and implementing a comprehensive development program from prospect identification through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Relies on education, experience, professional training and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Job Requirements
Experience - 2 years of fundraising experience.
Education - Bachelors Degree required
Special Skills - Candidate must posses exceptional interpersonal relationship skills, excellent oral & written communication skills; good problem solving, critical thinking, organizational and time management skills; and proficiency in microsoft office.
Job Function
- Works closely with Executive Director on coordination of Foundation events.
- Work with the Executive Director and Chair of Major Gifts Cabinet to develop and implement a plan for prospect cultivation activities including working with events staff and, as appropriate, volunteers on invitation lists, arrangements, etc.
- Coordinate with Community Relations staff to develop all fundraising materials, including solicitor materials, campaign brochure, etc.
- Work with other staff to establish gift/pledge processing and acknowledgement procedures and oversee implementation so that gifts are properly documented and acknowledged.
- Works with Volunteer Service Coordinator to staff volunteers for all community and fundraising events.
- Develop and administer fundraising work plans, managing and implementing revisions as needed.
- Develop and manage a prioritized list of donor prospects, ensuring the creation of prospect profiles as needed.
- Coordinate and support all committee activities, including establishing meeting schedules, preparing meeting agendas, attend meetings, and prepare minutes of meetings.
- Establish donor recognition programs with Executive Director.
- Identify analyses and reports for monitoring fundraising progress. Design and produce reports as needed.
- Coordinate ongoing communication/publications of fundraising related articles.
- Meets or exceeds program goals in quantity and quality.
- Demonstrate quality of analysis and judgment in program planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Shows creativity and initiative in creating new programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
