We are a dynamic law firm in Silicon Valley dedicated to providing high-quality family law services. Our team specializes in complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, property settlements, and marital agreements. We are seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team and support our attorneys in delivering outstanding legal representation to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Support: Assist attorneys with family law matters, including divorce, child custody, property settlements, and marital agreements.
- File Management: Organize and maintain clients' electronic files in a systematic and easily accessible manner.
- Legal Research & Calendar Management: Conduct legal research, maintain attorney calendars, track court deadlines, and ensure timely filings.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary contact between clients and attorneys, maintaining communication and addressing client needs.
- Document Preparation: Draft legal forms, pleadings, and discovery; arrange court filings and process serves; and prepare exhibits for trial and hearings.
- Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, Mandatory Settlement Conferences (MSCs), and hearings by organizing pleadings, trial notes, and exhibit binders.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Paralegal experience in Family Law is required.
- Local Expertise: Familiarity with the Alameda and Contra Costa Counties' courts and local rules is highly preferred, as is experience with high-asset cases.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is essential. Experience with Dropbox and legal form software is preferred.
- Organizational Skills: Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and handle multiple assignments and deadlines effectively. Strong editing and organizational skills are essential.
