Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer with over 5 years of experience in the oil and gas or power and utilities sectors. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in instrumentation and electrical systems, with a strong focus on project execution, design, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement electrical systems and components for instrumentation projects in the oil and gas or power and utilities industry.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure electrical designs align with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance during project execution, troubleshooting electrical issues as they arise.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
- Assist in the management of project schedules and budgets, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering within the oil and gas or power and utilities industries.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar).
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) or similar systems.
- Experience in performing system studies, including short circuit, load flow, and protection coordination.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration into traditional power systems.
