Job Summary:
The LabVIEW Software Developer will work alongside a team of engineers to develop test systems using LabVIEW software for internal customer projects and external customers in various industries including automotive and aerospace markets. The role will develop, modify, and create test systems through the deployment of electronics hardware and LabVIEW software. Typical test systems will require automation and test sequence management, closed loop control of multiple mechanical systems, along with data acquisition and signal processing of time based and event-based signals. - Eligible for $5,000 sign on bonus -
As LabVIEW Software Developer, you will:
- Design, develop, and verify LabVIEW software and control algorithms to meet requirements including front-end/graphical user interface (GUI) development
- Design and develop system wiring, including wiring schematics, conductor, connector, and terminal selection
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting, ensuring a test system meets requirements
- Capture and document customer system/hardware/software requirement
- Specify, design, and develop test system electronics hardware, sensors, and actuators
Minimum qualifications to be considered:
- Must be a US citizen
- Associates degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or related
- Minimum 2 years of software development experience using LabVIEW
- Ability to read, understand and create electrical schematics, and a good understanding of electrical and electronics basics
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability convey technical information to non-technical audiences appropriately and write concise technical reports
- Initiative to work independently and effectively manage multiple assignments and project timelines simultaneously, with strong time management skills
A successful candidate may also have:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or related.
- Actively hold Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) certification.
- Proficient in selecting appropriate National Instruments hardware.
- Experience developing software for LabVIEW FPGA and real-time hardware and experience with National Instruments TestStand and VeriStand.
- Experience with networking and communications protocols, including Ethernet, CAN bus, EtherCAT, RS485, RS232, USB.
- Experience with closed loop control systems and motion systems.
- Experience working with multiple developers on a single project, including the use of source code version management tools such as Subversion and Git.
