Our client is seeking a Point of Sale Engineer/Simphony/Micros in Celebration, FL.
Role Description
Deployment Management:
• Oversee the deployment of Simphony POS systems across various locations, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design effective deployment strategies.
• Manage and resolve incidents quickly in collaboration with stakeholders.
System Sustainment:
• Monitor the performance and reliability of the Simphony POS system, implementing updates and enhancements as needed.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users to ensure minimal downtime and efficient operations.
Training and Support:
• Develop and deliver training programs for staff on the effective use of the Simphony POS system.
• Create user manuals and documentation to support ongoing training and system use.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with IT, Operations, and other departments to align business objectives with technology solutions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all Simphony POS-related inquiries and issues.
• Networking and Infrastructure:
o Understanding of network architecture and protocols related to POS systems.
o Experience with hardware components commonly used in POS environments (e.g., terminals, printers, card readers, signature pads) and configuration of peripheral devices.
• Database Management:
o Knowledge of SQL and experience with database management systems, particularly Oracle databases, for performing queries and data analysis.
• Operating Systems:
o Experience with Windows operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
o Experience with the .NET application platform and Microsoft IIS.
• Security and Compliance:
o Experience with security best practices for POS systems, including PCI compliance, environmental support files and data protection measures.
• Integration Skills:
o Experience with API integrations and middleware solutions.
Skills & Requirements
What are the top Three – Five Skills?
• Proven experience with the Simphony Point of Sale system or similar POS technologies.
o 5+ years’ experience in Oracle Simphony POS[SO1] with multiple deployments, including configuration, integration, customization, and deployment. Or 3+ years Simphony POS and experience with Oracle products and systems (e.g., Oracle Hospitality Property Management System, Oracle Database Platform).
o Proficiency with scripting

• Strong understanding of IT project management principles and practices[SO2] .
• Proficiency in CI/CD (Azure DevOPS) and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
