Job Description:
Talent Groups is seeking a Senior Database Engineer with extensive MySQL expertise to join our team. This fully remote role is ideal for a seasoned professional skilled in managing high-performance transactional databases for multi-tenant SaaS applications, with a focus on operational excellence and evolving database architecture.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of experience as a Database Engineer
- Proven experience provisioning MySQL in clustered and non-clustered configurations
- Strong proficiency in MySQL management, replication, and storage engine optimization
- Expertise in MySQL best practices and performance tuning
- Skilled in writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Experience designing and tuning high-performance transactional databases for SaaS
- Familiarity with monitoring tools for proactive database performance management
- Strong attention to detail, process documentation, and repeatable process design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with other database systems, including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Oracle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation tools (Azure DevOps, Terraform, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of Azure security and compliance features
