We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estates Paralegal to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a law firm environment, particularly in estates, trusts, or probate law, who is looking for an opportunity to transition into a permanent position. The Estates Paralegal will support our attorneys in providing comprehensive estate planning and probate services, with duties ranging from document preparation to client communication and court filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of estate and probate documents
- Draft and review estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Manage estate administration, including asset collection, valuation, and distribution
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and firm policies
- Conduct relevant legal research for estate and probate cases
- Effectively communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and financial institutions
- Monitor and manage deadlines, court dates, and filings to ensure timely compliance
- Prepare documentation and materials for probate court hearings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in estates, trusts, or probate law in a law firm setting
- Proficient knowledge of estate planning, probate processes, and related laws
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
