Role Description
Meet with patients and families to screen for potential Long Term Care Medicaid and Medicare Benefit eligibility according to state and Federal guidelines. Complete and submit appropriate applications to Department of Health or MD Health Connection, Long Term Care Bureau, and the Social Security Administration. Follow up through determination.
Meet with patients and families to review and process financial assistance applications. Ensure completeness, verify supporting documentation, and agency completion of Medicaid applications. Other duties to support Medicaid eligibility and Financial Assistance eligibility.
Your experience: Long Term Care Medicaid, Medicare, QMB, SLMB

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in hospital financial counseling, hospital/medical office, medical insurance and/or customer service including experience with Long Term Care Medicaid, Medicare, QMB, SLMB.
Demonstrated understanding of state and federal programs available
Demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, SSDI, and SSI
Preferred:
Previous Certified Application Counselor training (CAC) – State and/or Federal
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish helpful but not required.
