Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

Our client, a Biotechnology Manufacturing firm located in Wilmington, Delaware, is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with a passion for innovation and manufacturing. The Mechanical Engineer will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of ISO, experience in supporting mechanical break/fix requests and knowledge of incoming supplier/vendor quality management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide mechanical design and troubleshooting support to address production challenges.
· Manage vendor quality by conducting assessments and ensuring compliance with ISO or relevant quality management standards
· Develop mechanical reliability plans to optimize critical equipment performance and longevity.
· Lead engineering improvement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions.
· Support mechanical break/fix requests within manufacturing modules to minimize downtime.
· Utilize CAD software to design and analyze mechanical parts, ensuring manufacturability and reliability.
· Assess incoming supplier/vendor quality for mechanical parts, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
· Prepare documentation and reports related to engineering projects and vendor assessments.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong understanding of ISO or other quality management standards.
· Proven project management skills with the ability to lead projects from conception to completion.
· Proficiency in CAD software and experience in mechanical parts design.
· Demonstrated ability to solve manufacturing problems effectively.
· Experience in supporting mechanical break/fix requests and developing asset reliability plans.
· Knowledge of incoming supplier/vendor quality management processes.
· Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
