Responsibilities:

24-Hour Call Coverage:
- Provide continuous 24-hour call coverage from 10:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
- Handle all newborn care, including attending all deliveries and performing circumcisions as needed.
- Provide coverage for c-sections and manage any neonatal resuscitation or stabilization required immediately after birth.
Emergency Department Consults:
- Respond to pediatric consults in the Emergency Department when requested.
- Assist with the facilitation of transfers to higher levels of care if necessary.
Pediatric Unit Admissions:
- Admit pediatric patients to the inpatient unit as required.
- Provide ongoing care and rounding for pediatric patients in the unit, ensuring comprehensive treatment and monitoring.

Qualifications:

Board Certification: Must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Pediatrics.
Fellowship: Completion of a Pediatrics fellowship is required.
Licensing: Must hold an active medical license in Virginia.
Certifications Required:
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is mandatory.
Hospital Privileges: Not required.
Temporary Privileges: Available, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 60 days.

Inpatient Setting:
- The practice is set within an inpatient environment, focusing on pediatric care.
- The department consists of 6 beds, and patient volumes vary depending on the day.
- Rounding responsibilities will include both assigned and unassigned pediatric patients, ensuring thorough and compassionate care.
Holidays Included:
- Coverage is required for major holidays including New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
