The Director of Facilities Maintenance is responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and support for all equipment and properties in an efficient and cost-effective manner by leading a qualified team of Maintenance Technicians and Help Desk Analysts. This person will be responsible for managing the maintenance and upkeep of all store equipment to serve the needs of our consumers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
- Perform and manage day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Help Desk including in-house and external vendor maintenance and Help Desk operations
- Ensure on-call status and provide 24-hour support for all on-call emergencies
- Responsible for contracting and managing all 3rdparty services such as landscaping, pest control, pressure washing, lot cleaning, HVAC, Fuel System in addition to Environmental Compliance
- Coordination with Store Operations, vendors, and cross-functional department to achieve the optimal functioning level for all stores 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Review and recommend systems and services to better manage our overall Facilities maintenance
- Leads effort to improve internal business processes and enhance organizational capabilities.
- Direct, establish and maintain staff of highly qualified maintenance personnel and external vendors responsible for the timely maintenance and repair to drive optimal customer service and profitable sales.
- Manage calls from dispatch through final bill processing to ensure quality and timeliness of work and payment
- Create a positive work environment through Team Member training, development, and support
- Coordinate Team Member scheduling with the goal of maximizing productivity and thoughtfully leveraging expenses.
- Maintain systems to purchase, control, and distribute parts and equipment with quality and cost being primary focus
- Provide reporting for performance of the Maintenance Help Desk
- Present a monthly financial and performance overview to VP-Ops, covering utilization of the capital expenditures budget, preventative maintenance, and asset inventory.
- Ensure all department Team Members adhere to the company’s safety policies and procedures

- Ability to quickly learn and operate department-specific software applications

- Must have excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written) with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to be innovative, thorough, resourceful, and adaptive/receptive to change
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Builds competence in others through effective coaching, performance management and mentoring to ensure appropriate resources are available to successfully perform their job.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- 5-7 years’ experience in Facilities Maintenance, Equipment Repair, or related fields
- Good understanding of technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems
- Proven ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or technology preferred
- Store Operations experience is a plus
- Experience working with Help Desk software is a plus
Travel:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at times
