The Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This role involves identifying and mitigating potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage safety programs and policies in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Provide safety training and education to employees, ensuring they are aware of safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.
- Maintain records of safety-related incidents, training, and compliance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory changes, and adjust safety programs accordingly.
- Lead safety meetings and committees, fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
- Recommend and implement safety improvements based on data analysis and feedback from employees.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
