The operations team is looking to hire a key finance member to drive the portfolio company analytics process which will support investment decisions and be the basis of the valuations for our financials. This role will present meaningful insights to the firm and cultivate relationships with our portfolio companies. We’re looking for a polished professional interested in developing a deep understanding of our portfolio who can implement best practices for performance tracking.
Role: Finance Manager
Lean on your expertise in financial analysis to review company data submissions and board decks in order to understand performance, track trends and develop benchmarks across our portfolio
Produce high quality materials and effectively present your insights to the deal team partners to help support investment decisions
Leverage your enthusiasm for efficiency and technology to improve existing processes around portfolio telemetry and introduce changes that enable the team to scale
Manage the data collection process with our portfolio companies and partner with our third-party team to ensure that financials and KPIs are accurately reflected on the iLevel software platform
Lead the quarterly valuation process using your deep knowledge of our portfolio companies’ performance and their financial outlook to run public comps models and other quantitative and qualitative analysis to ensure our valuations are appropriate
Interact with portfolio companies as a resource and create programs to enhance relationships with their finance teams
Drive and effectively manage ad hoc projects - e.g. assisting with investment due diligence or portfolio finance requests
Collaborate with accounting team on reviewing outputs from fund administrator and reviewing & delivering fund financial statements
Collaborate with accounting team on fund cash management and ensuring timely and accurate processing of capital calls, distributions and fund transactions
Assist with audits and tax reporting related to funds
Working with CFO and VP Finance, take on projects in other operations functions to build out processes and tools to support other important functions such as investor relations or other key components of business
What we’re looking for:
5+ years of experience in a financial/analytical role at a VC/PE firm or in tech, consulting, or investment banking
Experience with venture capital deal structures and terms
Strong understanding of financial statements and analysis
High level of proficiency with Excel and presentation tools with sharp attention to detail and strong aptitude for numbers and accuracy
Ability to compile data, develop insights ,and communicate findings and recommendations to executive-level audiences
Solid understanding of software/ SaaS business models and KPIs
Strong critical thinking, organizational, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Embraces ambiguity, enthusiastic willingness to learn, committed team player
