Senior Structural Engineer - Bridge Design
Advantage Engineering Associates, PC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer - Bridge Design to join our Structural Design Group. This position is available at either our Cranbury, NJ or Newark, NJ office. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in supporting and leading the design and development of structural projects, specifically focusing on roadway and bridge design.
Experience working with agencies like NJDOT, NJTA, and PANYNJ is preferred.
Typical Job Duties:
- Prepare structural plans and details for bridge superstructures and substructures, retaining walls, sign support structures and other structures utilizing MicroStation or AutoCAD software.
- Perform structural analysis and develop bridge models utilizing STAAD.Pro, MDX and Midas Civil Bridge design software.
- Perform structural design calculations for bridge superstructures and substructures includes, steel girders and prestressed beams design, shear stud design for composite deck, deck slab and deck overhang design, diaphragms & cross frames design, elastomeric bearings design, abutment and pier design, wingwalls and retaining walls design include spread footings and piles/drilled shafts foundation design in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and applicable design standards for different Agencies (NJDOT, NJTA & PANYNJ).
- Perform bridge inspections and prepare Bridge Condition Evaluation Reports in CombIS web base program.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering. A Master's degree is desirable.
- A minimum of 6 years demonstrated experience in structural design is required
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (from an ABET accredited school required)
- Knowledge of AASHTO, ACI, ASCE, NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ standards

Salary
The salary range for a Senior Electrical Engineer is $120,000 - $185,000. Compensation will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
