As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly experienced Associate Advisor to lead client relationships and contribute to the strategic growth of the firm.
Position Overview:
The Associate Advisor is an advisor support position that provides technical support for a team of Wealth Advisors. Responsibilities include researching client issues, data gathering and analysis, collaborating with the financial planning department, including implementation. The Associate Advisor will participate in client meetings, but not in an advice delivering capacity. In addition, this position has limited decision-making authority on client matters. Associate Advisors may also participate in the firm’s Investment Committee and Financial Planning Committee. This position is the entry point to becoming a Wealth Advisor at Planning Alternatives. While in this role, the Associate Advisor should plan on acquiring their Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation if they haven’t already begun the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attending Client meetings, taking comprehensive notes and action items, following up on action items to ensure completion.
- Researching issues and assisting Wealth Advisors with recommendations to client problems.
- Client service, including client meeting preparation, information data gathering, implementation of recommendations, account service and maintenance. Assisting Wealth Advisors with comprehensive financial planning including coordination of tax management strategies, estate planning, and risk management.
- Self-confidence, personal integrity, and an understanding of fiduciary responsibility.
- Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize.
- A team player, with strong communication skills.
- Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Business, Finance) from an accredited college or university.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Master’s Degree, JD or LLM. (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience with financial planning, client relationship management (CRM), and portfolio management (PM) software. (preferred but not mandatory)
- Background in legal research and understanding of tax planning and compliance. (preferred but not mandatory)
