The Sheraton Greensboro/Joseph S. Koury Convention Center is now seeking a professional Sous Chef for its high volume banquet kitchen.
This is a great culinary opportunity at the largest hotel and convention center in the Southeast region!
This position will:
- Lead the Banquet Culinary Staff in high volume meal preparation
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen in a friendly, open-minded manner.
- A very strong emphasis on monitoring and maintaining the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness within all areas of the kitchen daily.
- Currently certified in Serve-Safe food management.
- Assist with development of menu strategies.
- Monitor quality and presentation, following and assisting in creating AMAZING food.
- Work alongside the line associates to ensure a seamless event on a day-to-day basis – Extensive knowledge of day-to-day details of all culinary operations.
- Report directly to the Executive Chef.
- Manage and maintain cleanliness and proper rotation of all food product in coolers and dry shelves
- The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of high-volume Sous Chef experience.
- Must be able to execute high-quality, high-volume food production consistently with an emphasis on presentation.
- Should be able to teach and train staff to prepare and present with the highest of standards when the Executive Chef is both present and off.
- Job requires attention to detail, ongoing innovative staff training, creativity, food cost control, and organizational skills.
