Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Vice President of Business Development to cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with major tenants in priority markets. The ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate a network of key tenant relationships that can lead to preferred developer agreements. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the acquisitions team to ensure that real estate deals align with tenant growth objectives, offering valuable insights to support strategic decisions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Tenant Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants in key markets to ensure their real estate needs are fully supported.
- Market Research: Perform detailed analyses of tenant operations and market trends to uncover opportunities for expansion and acquisition.
- Property Alignment: Work closely with the acquisitions team to identify properties that align with tenant growth plans and business objectives.
- Location Strategy: Collaborate with tenants to select ideal sites for new locations or relocations, ensuring strategic alignment.
- Lease Negotiation: Lead negotiations with landlords to secure favorable lease terms that benefit both the tenants and the company.
- Insightful Reporting: Provide thorough reports on market trends, tenant interactions, and property opportunities to guide internal decision-making.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams such as acquisitions, legal, and property management to effectively implement tenant-focused strategies.
- Tenant Support: Quickly address tenant concerns, offering solutions that enhance long-term partnerships.
Qualifications:
- Ability to leverage an existing network of retail contacts, within key tenant markets, to drive acquisitions and opportunities from day one
- 3+ years of relevant experience as a Tenant Representative Broker or in tenant real estate management.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferred or a mix of education and experience.
- Strong industry contacts and the ability to leverage existing relationships to drive opportunities.
- Familiarity with the retail real estate market and tenant expansion strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and data to guide decision-making.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and work independently.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
