Responsibilities
Reporting to our Director of Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet customer and Company specifications and all applicable regulatory and enforcement requirements. Duties include:
- Works with the Director of Quality Assurance in the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal product testing standards; manuals, processes and procedures; manages internal, licensor and customer-specific product testing.
- Manages Certificates of Compliance for children’s product in accordance with CPSIA guidelines and the maintenance of the Certificates for requests from CBP/CPSIA/Licensors and Retailers.
- Coordinates the issuing and maintenance of files of all retailer and licensor Letters of Guarantee for Retailer, Licensor and Government requirements.
- Works with the Director of Quality Assurance in development, implementation and maintenance of product quality standards; manuals, processes and procedures; directs quality staff to ensure standards are met or exceed requirements.
- Partners and maintains good working relationships with quality staff and testing labs for major retailers, licensors and brands.
- Travels to international vendor facilities to establish collaborative relationships, reinforce quality requirements and monitor ongoing production.
- Travels to domestic distribution facility in SC to train and manage QC staff to ensure that quality standards are understood. Assists in the Recruitment and maintenance of appropriate staffing.
- Assists in Product reviews for safety and liability concerns/risk assessment and recommends changes, as required.
- Keeps abreast of any updates related to product safety compliance, Federal and State regulations; maintains supporting documentation
- Keeps abreast of any changes to packaging and labeling requirements for target country; disseminates information and changes internal requirements accordingly; maintains supporting documentation
- Ensures that Quarterly reporting is timely and accurate. Evaluates results and takes appropriate actions.
Qualifications
- 10+ Years experience in Quality Assurance function for TEXTILE products
- 5+ years management experience
- Previous experience working with and travelling to factories in China
- Ability to create statistical quality control procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Domestic and International travel required (approximately 20%)
