This position is responsible for engineering innovative products of value that meets or exceeds customer expectations according to predetermined performance criteria and aesthetic value.
Essential Functions
- Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD/SolidWorks) into working documents and patterns.
- Document critical information and tolerances while creating patterns.
- Create initial BOM using established standards.
- Modify existing patterns and modify BOO/BOM accordingly, based on work orders, photos, comments, among other sources.
- Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
- Work with sales to revise/improve existing products and assist in the development of new products.
- Evaluate and bring products to final approval.
- Preplan with production and answer any follow-up questions on the floor
- Assist production with questions & inspections
- Review products on units to make necessary modifications to meet performance criteria
- Log in covers, photos, canvex, other changes and tasks w/ research planner.
- Assist in evaluation of incoming projects and tasks in a timely manner and feedback information to the engineering planner.
- Assist in the maintenance of Status/Approval charts for customer projects
- Collaborate with other departments to meet / anticipate needs of both Engineering & other departments within the company (maintenance, production, sales, purchasing)

Education & Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or Math or related experience
- Advanced 2 & 3D CAD ability, adapting to SolidWorks, Gerber and Lectra Software
- Working knowledge of manufacturing functional interrelationships.
- Applied Lean manufacturing knowledge.
