Position Summary:
The Safety Manager will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies to ensure effective safety operations within the organization.
Essential Functions:
- OSHA Reporting:
- Manage and report quarterly and yearly OSHA statistics.
- Ensure compliance with customer safety requirements.
- Training:
- Update and manage the Safety Manual to meet OSHA and customer standards.
- Conduct training on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and assign monthly online safety training.
- Administer First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED, OSHA 10/30, and fire safety training.
- Incident Management:
- Oversee worker’s compensation documentation and near miss investigations.
- Develop corrective action plans and conduct job hazard analysis.
- Site Inspections:
- Travel to customer locations for safety audits and inspections.
- Train team members on job hazard analysis and manage PPE and equipment inspections.
- Sub-Contractor Oversight:
- Administer a driver safety program and recommend safety procedures for all company areas.
- Monitor compliance with safety protocols.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in a safety role with knowledge of OSHA standards.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of training others.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and communication skills.
Travel Requirements:
15-20% local travel (within Wisconsin) and overnight travel (Illinois, eastern Missouri, eastern Minnesota).
Physical Demands:
- Ability to conduct inspections and lift/move up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds).
- Capacity to work in various industrial environments and wear appropriate PPE.
