Job Title: Marine Mechanic/Rigger (Freshwater Inboard/Outboard Boats)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Marine Mechanic/Rigger to join our motorsport dealership in Cody, WY, specializing in the maintenance and repair of freshwater inboard and outboard boats, as well as rigging new boats for sale. The mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring boats are ready for sale or return to customers in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair inboard and outboard engines, electrical, and mechanical systems on dealership inventory and customer boats.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, winterization, and inspections.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fuel systems, steering, hydraulics, and other boat systems.
- Conduct pre-pick-up inspections on boats sold through the dealership.
- Keep accurate maintenance and repair, and rigging records.
- Rig new boats for sale, including the installation of engines, electronics, steering systems, and other accessories.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a marine mechanic, with expertise in inboard and outboard motors.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Certifications in marine engine repair or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with a dealership or similar environment is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor work in a dealership service and rigging area.
- Ability to work with heavy equipment and lift large parts.
