We are seeking a Research Associate to serve a scientific support position in our rapidly growing organization. In this role you will be responsible for formulating reagents and buffers, preparing samples for analysis, inventory management and laboratory logistics. This is a collaborative role requiring productive interactions with R&D and scientific leadership as we develop high-quality laboratory processes. We are located in Saint Louis, MO. The position comes with health and 401k benefits, and a salary commiserate with the candidate’s experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Help team receive, document, transport, and store samples from customer projects as they move through our ‘omic workflows.
- Order, stock, and monitor lab supplies key to the scientific operations of the company
- Perform technical sample preparation for both metabolomic and proteomic workflows.
- Take leadership of making reagents and buffers as needed for all scientific operations
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain and operate analytical equipment.
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks.
- Remove lab waste.
- Help contribute to the development, validation, and optimization of new protocols and methods to meets the needs of our customers
- Maintain positive control over timing and scheduling issues as we prioritize projects and meet deadlines
- Attend scientific meetings, conferences and training courses.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in a scientific related discipline.
- Must have expertise in molecular biology and/or chemical laboratory operations with at least 2 years experience preferred. Prior experience in a CRO environment is desirable.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
- Experience with laboratory notebook record keeping highly desired.
