Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Drayage Operations to lead our drayage services and enhance our operational capabilities. In this critical role, you will oversee all aspects of our drayage operations, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of goods within metropolitan areas. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, drive profitability, and deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day drayage operations, managing a team of logistics professionals to ensure timely cargo movement and adherence to service standards.
- Strategic Development:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and expand drayage services in alignment with market trends and customer needs.
- Team Management:
- Lead and inspire the drayage operations team, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and high performance.
- Customer Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, proactively addressing their transportation needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage the drayage operations budget, monitoring KPIs and operational metrics to assess performance and drive profitability.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation and logistics, prioritizing safety and risk management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, particularly in drayage operations.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing teams and driving operational success.
- Proficiency in logistics software, transportation management systems (TMS), and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance, customs procedures, and risk management strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate operational challenges.
