ABOUT THE POSITION
GTN Technical Staffing is seeking a Junior Product Owner - Aviation for a Direct-Hire, 100% on-site role in Lone Tree, CO. We’re looking for a dynamic and innovative Product Owner with background in aviation to join our client's team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in fixed-wing flight planning and operational strategies across a wide range of aviation sectors, including commercial and business aviation, charter, cargo, military, and private sectors. Experience with helicopter operations, while not essential, would be a valuable asset.
The chosen candidate will bring a deep understanding of aviation regulations and possess top-tier communication and presentation skills to translate both industry requirements and customer insights into impactful product features and solutions.
- Customer-Centric Product Development: Develop a nuanced understanding of customer needs and the aviation sector.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development leadership, engineering, account management, and quality assurance teams to define and deliver optimal solutions.
- Industry Engagement: Maintain direct communication with clients, potential clients, industry partners, and regulatory bodies to stay ahead of evolving industry demands.
- Requirements Management: Break down high-level business needs into detailed user stories for the development team, ensuring clarity and actionable guidance.
- Backlog Prioritization: Oversee and prioritize the product backlog, clearly communicating priorities to the development team.
- Requirements Documentation: Collaborate with technical and testing teams to resolve any ambiguities, aligning requirements and clarifying scope.
- Product Documentation: Develop comprehensive policies, procedures, workflows, and user guides, ensuring quality standards for sales enablement and marketing.
- Continuous Improvement: Build and maintain in-depth product knowledge, staying informed on industry shifts through site visits and participation in key industry events.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years in the following skill sets…Software Product Owner: Familairity with Software product roadmapping and ownership. Prior experience developing user stories for development teams.
- Aviation Background: Professional qualification in aviation, such as a Flight Crew or Dispatch certification, or equivalent expertise.
- Diverse Operational Insight: Experience across at least two distinct operating or regulatory environments within aviation.
- Agile and SCRUM Proficiency: Familiarity with Agile and SCRUM methodologies; relevant certification is a plus.
- HIGHLY DESIRED (BUT NOT REQUIRED)Familarity with Helicopter operations
- PMP or CSM
