Summary
This position conducts technical training classes within the assigned program, which enable the College to meet the current standards of accreditation, applicable federal and state licensing as well all national, state, and local regulations.
Essential Functions
- Teaches one or more assigned classes that are part of the AMT program
- Compile and maintain student grade and attendance records and other required paperwork
- Follow and maintain daily lesson plans and course Study Guides, ensure their compliance with the current FAR 147 Certification Manual through input to the Lead Instructor/Department head
- Comply with established procedures as noted in the FAR 147 Certification Manual
- Comply with established company policies and procedures
- Administer and grad lab projects and theory exams required for the course of instruction assigned
- Maintain lab equipment
- Report supplies and expendable materials needed for class to Lead Instructor or Department head
- Ensure student compliance with all established student policies and procedures
- Provide student remediation as needed and within a normal workday
- Assist in student retention
- Compile and maintain records of attendance for time missed to provide adequate opportunities for student to make up time missed as necessary within a normal workday
Knowledge / Skills
- Knowledge of computer with ability to edit and create documents using Microsoft office products
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as technical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, staff, and students
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane, and solid geometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Education and Work Experience
- High School diploma and eight (8) years field experience (or)
- Associate degree and four (4) years of field experience required
Certificates, License, Registrations
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
