Job Overview
As a HIL Development Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing software solutions for Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing. This role includes creating data acquisition tools, user interfaces, test automation, and conducting data analysis. You will specify and design HIL test benches (Rigs) from equipment to system level, ensuring that the software meets verification and validation (V&V) needs and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to gather test requirements and determine software and automation solutions.
- Design and operate HIL test benches for system-level testing.
- Lead the development of software for HIL test benches, including DAQ, HMI, test automation, and data analysis.
- Produce technical documentation to support test benches V&V in compliance with industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in LabVIEW or Matlab/Simulink for developing real-time test systems.
- Experience with Python or C/C++ for system control and data processing.
- Knowledge of aerospace/automotive communication protocols (ARINC 429, ARINC664, CAN).
- Familiarity with version control tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Minimum: BS in Electronics, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
- Experience: Five years with Hardware in the Loop systems like National Instruments, Speedgoat, RT-Opal, or dSPACE.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Reflective Memory for real-time data sharing.
- Experience with aviation software tools qualification (DO-330).
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORs, JAMA, Windchill).
