The Lead Aircraft Structures Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft structural components, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with Airside MRO, federal, and OSHA regulations. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, identifying defects, and taking corrective action as needed. The lead mechanic consults manuals and specifications to guide repairs, supervises the installation of new parts, and ensures the precision of sheet metal repairs. They maintain detailed documentation, troubleshoot structural issues, and provide leadership and mentorship to junior mechanics while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

- Lead and perform regular maintenance on aircraft structural components, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with Airside MRO, Federal, and OSHA regulations.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of records for maintenance, repairs, inspections, and services, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections and examinations of various structural components, identifying cracks, corrosion, defects, or wear, and taking corrective action as needed.
- Consult maintenance manuals and specifications to ensure all repairs and replacements follow correct operational procedures and meet required safety and performance standards.
- Supervise and perform the installation of new parts, ensuring that all replacements or repairs of structural components are done to specifications and improve performance.
- Oversee sheet metal repairs, ensuring the structural integrity and safety of aircraft components while maintaining precision in all tasks.
- Identify and resolve structural issues based on inspections or reports from Airside MRO customers, providing expert troubleshooting and guidance for corrective actions.
- Document and manage all records related to inspections, repairs, and reassembly of structural components, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal audits.
- Ensure strict adherence to Federal, Airside MRO, and OSHA regulations throughout all maintenance activities, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior mechanics, assisting with complex repairs and ensuring the team follows best practices for structural maintenance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the overall maintenance operation and enhancing team performance.

- In-depth knowledge of aircraft structural components, systems, and parts, with the ability to lead inspections, maintenance, and repairs for optimal performance.
- Comprehensive understanding of tools and testing methods used to ensure the functionality and integrity of structural components.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software for maintaining and managing detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance.

- Expert ability to interpret technical documentation, including Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), drawings, and specifications, to guide accurate repairs and replacements.
