Position Title: Lead Roving Technician

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Roving Technician to join our service team. This role is crucial for commissioning and performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on advanced battery energy storage systems. The successful candidate will also fulfill obligations under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA) for various Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Frequent travel to project sites across the United States is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project and Commissioning Managers to oversee commissioning responsibilities.
- Manage and coordinate the commissioning schedule, ensuring adequate manpower is forecasted.
- Allocate and oversee contracted workers, including their onboarding and funding.
- Train new Service Technicians in commissioning processes.
- Implement QR codes on systems and register them in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Educate technicians and contractors on CMMS usage.
- Serve as the site lead for new projects, ensuring compliance with scheduling, safety, and environmental standards.
- Facilitate effective transitions to Operations in collaboration with Field Service Supervisors.
- Provide technical guidance to Service Technicians and Field Supervisors.
- Address issues during system transit, including repairs and damage assessments.
- Contribute to procedure development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct field training for Service Technicians involved in commissioning and maintenance.
- Offer onsite diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to ensure equipment availability and capacity.
- Develop operational procedures and processes.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Electrical Technician.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Proficient in translating technical data into manuals and procedures.
- Familiarity with inverters and SCADA systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems, and energy storage applications is a plus.
- Experience with CMMS software is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel to regional locations (over 50% of the time).
